thinking of going up this weekend before the big thaw.[/b]

Just back from riding Crannberry & Tupper Lake areas on Tues-Weds. Great conditions. 3-4 inches of new powder over great trails. Tuesday stayed at Park Motel in Tupper. (www.sunsetparkmotel.com) Rode out back door across pond to r.r. bed. Breaking powder the whole way. Nice & fast! Over to Charlies Inn and up around the C7 C8 trails. Played in the power lines trying to find C7b to Ga-Gas. Never found it but ended up over at 86 & 186, then played in deep powder back towards Charlies. (http://www.newyorksnowmobiling.com/) Gal pal rolled sled horsing around on only her 3rd time out. Nice pix w no injuries or damage.

Area is much nicer than crowded Tugg Hill.

I'm trying to get back up for Sat.

We saw the first couple of passes by a local guy whom the folks at the Crannberry Lake Hotel said is the unofficial tester.

He didn't get wet. Temp last nite was -8 F at 8:30pm when we left. I think the lakes are good till the thaw takes it's toll this weekend.

wonder how many "unofficial testers" the town has gone thru? :yelrotflmao: did you stay at the lake hotel? that's where we're staying. stayed across the street last year.

Oko, I was talking to you at the bar last night. The phone call I got was to go pick one of those "unofical tester" out of the lake. Not bad stuck in some deep slush near the shore. I heard reports of eight inches of ice, just sulshy around the shore.

Yikes! I played last nite on the pond behind the Park Hotel in Tupper. Good thing I din't know about the slush near shore...'cause I can't swim! Of course there is an "ski" on the end of my name for a reason......

The Lake is in good shape except for a few spots near shore. He was lucky to be in only a couple feet of water.
