a few strange days of events,,,,,,, first my brothers key went bad about 50 miles away from the truck,,,,,,,,, it would run,,,,,,, it would start and then say check key , then bad key,,,,,, then check enengine and the check engine light was on and wouldnt run over like 3000 rpm,,,, loooking inside the key there was what looked like a small dent,,,, went for the spare key problem fixed,,,,,, the next day his check engine light came on while riding and the display said check engine and was giving 4 beeps,,,,,,,, looked in the book and it said take to dealer,,,,,,,,, 200 miles away,,,,,,,,,, turns out ,,,,,,,, his helmet sheild wire broke off grounded out on the tunnel and blew the fuse,,,,,, it still ran but wouldnt go over 6000 rpm,,,, also tail light was out,,,,,,,,, put in new fuse it flashed engine light a few times and reset,,,,,,,,,, another guy had removed his air box to put on sheild wire and didnt put it back on carbs all the way,,,, it wouldnt run over 7800 rpm,,, put it all the way on and then 8200,,,,, so it looks like the ecu is able to put it in safe modes for different things,,,,,,, just alittle input for everyone who may run into some weirdness,,,,,,,,,,,
