Mine came on after a 145 mile ride from full. Ridiculous. I was embarrassed to tell my friends I needed to hit a town for oil. They literally thought I was messing with them.

My 2019 (with 2020 flash) last weekend ran about 350 miles without oil light coming on. I checked level in the morning and it was near empty lol. Sled does have the 4 year warranty but I'd be paying a $50 deductible and likely leaving sled at dealership for a few days. Think I should just buy a new sensor? Or anything else I could check? This was first time in the 2 years I owned it I actually wanted to see when the light came on...and it didn't work.

Yeah same here. 250 miles this weekend, half inch above the add line still. I'm happy with the oil consumption. I would much rather use more than less. Broke in on VES from dealer. Now running Mystik. Original plugs and NON ethanol mode to boot! I must have a unicorn!

$1000 @ $50 a gallon = 20 gallons and @ 600 miles per gallon you will be @12,000 miles ...nice year.
I’m getting about 360 miles per gallon of oil.

Mileage so far this season 1100 = 3 gallons of oil per sled I have two. My next fill will be gallon number six @ $50 = $300 now if I ride another 2000 miles or more do the math it will be close to a $1000 by the end of the season. Hopefully with the 20 fully out of break in my miles per gallon will increase.

What kind of MPG are the 850's getting?

I know that my '18 800 with the cooler running motor gets about 1-2mpg LESS than my '16 800 did, and consequently is does use more oil than the '16. Personally I'm good with that. More oil means more lubrication.

My 850 uses about 2 more gallons, on a full tank, than the wife's 800.
Her 800 gets 16 to 20 mpg's

My 800 is drinking Extreme like its water compared to VES race, I'm sending out a sample bottle of each to CAT to see what the differences really are. I'm over this BS

reading online about being over 5500 RPM or so for a certain amount of time?? Any truth to this for the 2020 sleds? If so is it just more oil?
Yes, it's true. Your 850 will require 5500+ RPM for 2 hours to get through the break-in for the injectors and 10 hours for the oil pump.

I say, let it use oil! 8,000 rpm, rings vs. cylinder, I don't give a damn what the tech is, you need lubrication! Want a motor to last, make it slippery and run cool.... period. Physics don't lie. This oil sipping stuff is bs, bottom line, 2 strokes burn oil, don't like it? Buy a 4 stroke.

so the 850 is a gas and oil pig?....makes me want to have to "spring order" one of them....not!... My 800's just went up in value....i don't use anywhere near a gallon of oil in 360 figgin miles..... closer to 1/2 a that, ....that's insane, and i get 15-16 mpg....and I got 8300 miles out of the 2015.

My 15 800 Axys gets 14 to 15 mpg and about 450 miles per gallon of oil. And the crank bearings to a crap in it at 3200 miles. Now my 19 850 get 11 to 20 mpg and about 700 miles to a gallon oil. I did get the 2020 flash and it doesn't seem to be any worse or better .

rynex post would disagree....strongly.

anyways from these newest knee jerk reactions,...someone is Full of **it.

to tell you the truth i only monitor my MPG but if the oil consumption on my 800 was some weirdly low mpg I would notice.
