OK All you clutching gurus. Stew on this one!

I'm running a D&D Teal spring 185 engage and 295 shifted

4800rpm engage 7900 rpm top

I want to get 8100 rpm top

Any suggestions for the pressure spring? I don't want to give up the engage. Already runnung 62 gram weights and it shifts nice. So i just thought the primary would do it.

I was thinking a EPI Maroon 185 engage 320 shifted. Or will that be too much.

I don't want to mess with the secondary because the backshift is so sweet.

Run a 60 gram weight, or remove some weight from the end of your 62 gram weights, or try the spring and see what happens. The spring may have the desired effect at high speed but the midrange rpm may not be effected.

If you are happy with your spring setup,and i assume you are running
a dual angle helix, just come down two or three degrees on the second
angle ,will pull the extra rpm and backshift even quicker

Tryed the EPI Maroon. Like I suspected It was too much.
5000 rpm engage and 8500 rpm top. BUT boy did it accelerate nice.

I;m just going to try and EPI yellow. Cross my fingers.

Some other simple things you could try. Which hole is the secondary spring in? you can typically get 150- 200 rpm buy moving the spring tail location. Spring clockwise + rpm. Another thing to try is a shim under the helix typically a .100" shim is good for a couple hundred rpm also as it gets you to the lower angle quicker. As you can see there are several ways to get your desired results...

Well tryed the Yellow and NOW i'm confused. Engage is at 4800 rpm and Top is 8000 rpm.

Now I'm really puzzled.

I might put back in the maroon and weight it up a couple of grams. That should do the trick.
