when i try to drive slow in smaller trails clutches and belts get hot real hot!!!, anyone know how to fix this problem with polaris clulching, seems most have this problem but don't know it unless you drive slow.
How slow? Anything below 10-15 mph, it will get hot. No matter what you do. Make sure the belt deflection is adjusted properly, 1.25" max, even as tight as 1 1/8". Use a straight edge bar of some sort to check. Do not go by how high it sits above the secondary clutch. The stock 120 starting poundage primary spring is a soft as I would go. The primary belt to sheave clearance becomes more critical for slow speed operation. Have it checked and adjusted to no more than .020" with a low mileage belt. Install the delrin washers in the secondary.
