I'm a long long time BVS2 bucket user but due for another one next season. How does everyone using a Titan like it? :dunno: I like the fact that the face piece drops down like my BVS2.

How does everyone using a Titan like it? <img src="http://www.hardcoresledder.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif" border="0" alt="" title=":dunno:" class="inlineimg" /> I like the fact that the face piece drops down like my BVS2.
I have one and used it all last year. I do about 50/50 trail/off. Used it in Quebec mostly in some really cold temps (-20f). It will not be anywhere near as warm as your bvs2 but it is good for an open face helmet. I found the klim covert balaclava worked the best but it would be better if it had windproof panels on the cheeks. The nose piece leaks a little air at the corners on the trail. Used the klim arctic on super cold days but the nose bunches too much with this helmet. Going to try a modified arctic this year with the nose piece cut off because it has windproof panels around the cheeks. Wish klim would make one as a cross between the covert and arctic. It would be perfect with windproof cheek panels.

This helmet goggle fogs worse than any open faced helmet I have ever had in the very cold temps. Never had a fog problem with other open faced goggle combos no matter the temp. I highly recommend you get the heated goggles because once you fog, it is almost impossible to de-fog on the trail. Ask me how I know. In warmer temps, 10f and up, you dont really need to use the heat.

Overall, I do love this helmet. The fold down front is great and very good with the klim covert. It is a little tricky to get the front back on when you knock it off by accident digging out. I recommend doing it a couple times in the house to get a feel for it. Sucks trying to figure it out in the cold. I never had a helmet that I would leave on all morning and afternoon but this one allows that with the fold down front and one handed goggle removal and stowage on top of helmet. Put it on in morning, take off at lunch and end of day. I was always taking my others on and off when i was huffing and puffing. Best feature in my eyes.

I also ended up using the largest bottom closure they provide all the time. It seals really well around your jacket and you only have to mess with it when taking on and off which you dont need to do very often. It mounts to the front and velcros along the bottom sides. Great feature.

I do not think this helmet is comparable to a bvs2 though. If you dont like open face/goggle combos, I doubt you will like this helmet. It is an improved open face/goggle helmet, not an open faced with fully enclosed performance. I have used open faced helmets for quite a few years with an arctic balaclava on cold days and they work great but it is still colder than enclosed. I just dont like dealing with fully enclosed helmets.

Did a 4 day Quebec ride between Xmas and New Years with the 19 titan 210 electric goggle combo.
Temps where -18 to 20 with freezing rain.
Helmet was set up for trail riding,
Neoprene nose guard, full chin skirt,
Vents all blocked off.
Keep in mind that when set up for trail you have to close nose first then strap the googles in place.

1 no fog issues whatsoever
2 minimal air leakage ( adjusted goggles to correct)
3 excellent field of vision
4 very minimal ice buildup during the freezing rain episode on the goggles while using electric
5 felt very light on the head compared to modular helmets

Have to be honest, the bvs2, the new oxygen helmets and most other brands where fogging, had tons of ice buildup on the shields and there electric shields were not enough to melt the ice. Saw first hand on the trail.
For me at least this titan exceeded my expectations and made some other riders shake the heads as there chipping ice.

What do you mean by trail? I would love to drop my chin section to talk at stops, but if I can't I won't wait to try one of these on.

Also curious if this helmet fits round heads or more oval better? I love the idea of it but with no dealers in the states I was going wait until I go to Canada sometime late spring to buy a new lid...but have the itch to buy something so I would like to not wait.

Here is a good video to explain the helmet options.

Super8, thanks for the very informative videos. I have been looking at these helmets for a bit now, but the "only available" in Canada thing has kept me from purchasing. On my way now to the link you provided to purchase one of the electric goggle versions. Going to replace the POS Oxygen helmet I own...:wall:

Im not sure if the 19 has an updated wiring harness for the goggles but my 18 goggles fell apart right at the joint where the wire some into the goggles. Not too happy about that, hopefully there covered under warranty.

A quick review of the helmet, i used it last winter for 4 days in minus40-50 and it was great with no fogging. Make sure to get a good balaclava one that is windproof such as the klim.

The rubber stop in the mouthpiece is a piece of garbage IMO it falls out almost eveytime.

Me and my buddy are on our second season with the heated goggle Titan helmet. We both absolutely love the helmet. Heated goggles work great and I really haven't had a problem with fogging. I can sit at a stop sign for about 5 minutes before it will start fogging. Most times I drop the mouth piece when stopped to get some crisp fresh air.

I just had my new Titan on my head for about an hour while breaking trails on my property. Gotta say, this Titan is twice the helmet my oxygen is, and it's 1/2 the price. Temp is about 25 degrees, and freezing rain has been falling for a few hours now. No fogging of the goggles to speak of. Next weekend will be the big test as far as warmth is concerned. I'll be up in the Burg for the weekend. Initial feelings on this helmet are 2 thumbs up right now.:fluffy::fistpump2::fluffy:

Tried the Titan out for the first time yesterday in zero degree weather. I was very surprised and pleased how quiet the helmet is with wind noise. Very functional and goggles worked very good. Helmet fit is different sizing than most other brands so something to look at when purchasing. I normally wear a XL but ordered a Large due to sizing chart. Helmet fit awesome beside cheek pads. You can order new cheek pads but I decided to open the pads up and cut foam in half then reinstall, worked like a champ and helmet fits very good.

Put just under 100 miles on while wearing my new Titan, and I still say that this Titan is twice the Helmet my Oxygen is. Temps ranged from -2 to 9 degrees for a high. No fogging with the electric goggles plugged in. I wish I would of purchased a L instead on a XL, but still a great helmet. 2 Thumbs up. :fistpump2:

k boys, i did order this lid and have had 3 rides with it so far in temps ranging from -25C up to -10C.

First ride end of Feb was full trail set up. All plugs in and full chin skirt with neoprene nose piece and trail goggles. Chin up first then goggles. Very minimal fogging at the top. Stopped for gas, went inside, big no no. Lenses heated up inside while paying, went outside, set up again as before and fogged up within 5 minutes. Stopped, tried scraping away the thin ice build up in the goggles. Worked for a bit till we got to our lunch stop. Helmet inside eating lunch, finished and temps are about -16C now. Fogged up within 10 minutes only on the right half. Pretty tough through the twisties with one eye, lol. Got to the next warm up shack and said fuck it, i'm putted the back country lenses on and rubber nose guard. Low and behold, no fogging whatsoever, but damn cold on long lake runs that had to be made from trail to trail.

Fast forward to yesterday, pulled two plugs out of the helmet for some air flow. Set up the helmet with trail goggles and rubber nose piece and small chin skirt. Temps were nice at about -10C. No fogging at all. Now, would have loved to have tried this system set up with a cold day and see if there was a difference or not, but i'll have to wait till next year as it's warming up for the foreseeable future.

I like the helmet a lot. Light and fits nicely. I do find that with the trail goggles that when i turn my head the goggles want to shift out of position compared to the BC goggles that stay put and feel lighter. I'll fiddle with the straps.

I had originally used a CKX extreme balaclava that points the breath down, but i hated that thing as it felt like i was choking and it was fogging anyways. I had a regular balaclava on yesterday and worked well.

I may just break down and buy the electric lense conversion kit and be done with any fogging issues forever, but that's another $170
