Are you talking about the magnet switch pick-ups? These are part of the TSS system. Start with them raised as high as they will go. Start the engine and hold the throttle pivot to keep it from moving towards the throttle block as you press on the throttle. If the spark is not interrupted before the reaches engagement RPM them lower the pick-ups on the carbs and try it again. The cut out RPM should be between the cold, fast idle RPM and the engagement RPM.
