How do you know that the belt is slipping? Yes, you can run the 080 belt, but it will drop your rpm some.

never had a slipage problem with 2300 miles on orig. belt. (I do run the belt a little tight).... I did notice that the 080 belt (new spare I had) started to delaminate from the heat. I have a new 3211115 and will be putting some venting on the belly pan for heat removal. and yes the $170 for the belt BLOWS!

Yes the price blows, however the longevity is second to none.

Try a Ultimax XS that retails for $99.95 with a one year warranty. My 2005 900 ate 3211080's in near stock form and the XS's are now lasting well over 1000 miles.
