The only time I had that senerio happen to me personally (not on cat ) was when I had majors overdrive cut into the primary AND then ran the shortest measured belt I could find for it.( a gates ) switched back to polaris standard length belt and no more problems. There were black belt skid marks on the secondary hub.

Sled works awesome.

21/49 showed me 94-95
22/48 showed me 96
But the 21/49 got me there a lot quicker.
I feel that 21/49 is a great setup for 660.
I have 21/41 to try next.

I see I had the green primary spring in as well. I just swapped it out for a bit stiffer spring to see if any difference.
21/41 will likely show a bit more top end but I would think it will lose some torque down low.

21/41 May be a bit too high for this sled.
I can’t see it doing 111mph

I know it does not show in any of the charts but I actually went to 23-47 gearing (2.04/.489 ratio) so I could use the stock chain from the 22-48 gearing. This is almost the same as 24-50 gearing and is about 5% lower than 21-41. It seems about perfect for these sleds.

Did you find that you lost much power down low?
Are you seeing 105mph on a long pull?

I think the wider belts cat uses now is the ticket for top end. Before 2018 it didn't seem as often people were getting to full shift out on the 16-17 clutchs

Yet i see 18-19 zr sleds hitting 108-110 gps when the 16-17 struggle to hit 100. Yet peak hp and tq is very close.

With a 1.6 21/41 should be fine.

I run a storm 1.5 which is heavier than a cobra with 21/41 and have no issues. And mine is studded 3 per bar.

Agreed
“Quick” is what it’s all about.
But it is nice from time to time to throw in a bit taller gear and get up over 100.
Kinda curious if these chassis (146”) would hit 105 or so
