It so good to hear something that positive about this project. Many people have the misconception that this is a snowmobile only project, I just wish that this had hit the AP and therefore other papers. Thanks for the link.

Its good to see some snowmobile ralated news that doesn't involve someone pissing someone else off somehow. This plan is a model of comapability to take advantage of existing infrastructure that benefits several user groups. We can all learn a lot from the course that this project is taking. I think VAST should be proud of their involvement and commitment to this worthwhile endeavor.

They will need to address the surface issue for bicycles.............gravel will work but if they plan to leave the crushed stone that is on there.........that stuff is murder to bike tires even if it is compressed.....................

nope, they plan on addressing the issue:

edit: being part of the excavation industry, those improvments will be big $$...

There was talk of raiding the monies from the Transportation bill, under which the rail trail is covered.....to help pay for New Orleans......anyone have any info on this? :dunno:
