Claimjuice,

I just replaced my 2000 zr700 with an F5. I put over 7000 miles on the 700 so I am very familiar with that engine. I can tell you that my F5 will out accelarate the 700 and propable outrun it on the top end.

the 98-00 zr 700's were the exact same motors as the earlier wildcats, they were all doggy unless u got them perfectly tuned in, i almost bought one and the dealer steared me towards a 600

The intake and exhaust are on the same side of the engine allowing it to lay down flatter, lowering the center of gravity, but that is a handling issue. The APV's make it run efficiently at all rpm ranges. What I don't understan is how the little f^%ker makes 140 horses!

Major Difference: The old 700 is PISTON PORT whereas all the newer engines are CASE REED. This is why the 2000 600cc engine was an overall better engine than that old 700. Back in its day, the Wildcat 700 was fast, but not in 1999 & 2000
