Arctic Cat gears up for Hometown Tour
Posted 13-12-2002 09:08

From a press release:

You are cordially invited to the biggest party of the winter season, Jan. 24-26, 2003, in Thief River Falls, Minn. Arctic Cat fans from all over the world will “come home” to ride snowmobiles, experience the Arctic Cat factory and personnel and celebrate the sport of snowmobiling.

Mother Nature may have prevented last year’s festivities, but not this year. More events, better services, more people and a forecast for big snow will make the Hometown Tour the must-attend occasion of the year.

The celebration kicks off with a huge ice breaker reception on Friday night, where you’ll catch up with old friends, meet new ones and mix it up with Arctic Cat engineers and dignitaries.

Arctic Cat unveiled brand new, limit-edition snowmobiles at the first Hometown Tour, and they’ve indicated that another all-new sled will be shown for the first time at this year’s event. And other cool plans are in the works, including Arctic Cat plant tours, product displays, special purchase opportunities at the company store and more.

Saturday morning we ride. Leaving from the Arctic Cat factory on guided rides of 50 (relaxed pace), 100 (intermediate/experienced) and 200 (experts only) miles, you’ll experience firsthand the trails, rivers and ditches that have served as the proving grounds for Arctic Cat snowmobiles for more than 40 years. For fans who want to stay inside, the Seven Clans Casino features great entertainment, complete with an indoor waterpark.

Everyone will meet for a lunchtime cookout complete with bonfires, music and test rides on new Arctic Cat snowmobiles and ATVs. With bellies and sleds full, we’ll head back to Thief River Falls to complete an awesome day of riding.

The Saturday evening banquet is a great time to swap stories about the day’s events in a party-like atmosphere. Loads of great Arctic Cat prizes will be given away and a raffle for the just-unveiled Arctic Cat snowmobile will make it a night you’ll remember. Sunday morning features a big pancake breakfast and a final opportunity to hang with your pals.

Cost for participation in the 2nd Annual Hometown Tour is $55 U.S. for Cat’s Pride Club members ($65 for non-members), and includes the Icebreaker Reception, a Hometown Tour T-Shirt, cap and duffle bag, Saturday trailside cookout, evening banquet and the Sunday breakfast.
