A lot of BS about nothing
Quit whining, we got enough of that going around.

So what else does Cat have for two stroke performance? The worst performing 600cc sled in the business. Take a look at the 600cc shootouts for as far back as you want to go. Where's Cat been in those results?
Your passion to hate on Cat keeps you close minded and sounding like a fool (no offense, I respect your opinion jdsky), why leave the door open like that? Cat's 600 is an excellent motor, it was built-in house and shows they are capable of making a great, powerful reliable engine.
The 2014 Sled of the Year was a ProCross 600, or El Tigre. Not exactly yesterday, but it shows how well rounded that setup was and is. It's also responsible for countless podium wins in the 600 class, winning historic percentages just a few years ago.

For the record you set yourself up for, sorry for owning your shit.

As for engine technology and superiority. Any edge Cat had in the two stroke engine department left the house with the Zuk partnership.
Now you see how silly this type of comment looks?

Since that time the company has absolutely struggled to get a performance two stroke into the marketplace worth a shit. The Ctec 800 has been a complete disaster of an engine that Cat continues to struggle with today. They were so late to market with it that they finally just had to dump it on their customers and hope for the best. This while the competition was already moving on from 800cc's as their top performing engine. What is the answer from your beloved brand that you continue to say is PERFORMANCE minded over everything else? A 397cc beginner sled. Yep, that's certainly being laser focused on performance.

The 2020 CTEC 800 in an Alpha 1 beat the 850's up a Mountain, but thats mostly due to the Alpha 1 skid being superior then the competition and grabbing much more snow. Reviewers say its just as powerful, and it bested Polaris's 800 in 1/2 races.
The 850 nonsense is just that, its to re-ignite some interest and bring some flair to the market.
Cat wouldn't make a dinky 850, then would jump right to a 900.
But they don't need it, the 800 they have competes very well with the 850's, and the 998 blows them all out of the water.
If your going to hate on a brand and soak tampons, atleast try not to sound like a baby who started snowmobiling yesterday,

If you consider my response me being upset or being hurt over an opinion that holds no water then you have a long hard life ahead of you full of hurt and disappointment, its like you cant accept a differing opinion or one based off logic because in your eyes it just cant be true. I have a hard time believing you are more than 16-17 yrs old with most of the responses you have. Just keep spewing your opinions and when a little logic is introduced you can pull the butthurt or race card or whatever helps fit your narrative. Ironic you bring up Biden when you and a few others on here constantly spin facts and reality to try to play it off to your benefit as if their really is a benefit to riding 1 brand over another.

Yet you respond? Fun getting you all upset over an opinion. Would hate to see something important come up in your life. Guessing you would do a Joe Biden and hide out in your basement.

You can F the right off, ya putz. If you're making that statement based on my response to the word you used ... I'd love to introduce you to my best friend and his awesome daughter who's got Down's. I used that word on a regular basis for years, and now it hits a little closer to home so I cringe a bit when I hear it. Lumping me in as some sort of liberal / socialist just affirms my belief that you are an idiot. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt early on, considering you a troll ... but no, you're an idiot. You are what gives good Cat riders a bad name.
On the bold...Exactly

Clearly they do need it, or something else to in your words "re-ignite and bring flair." Above all else snowmobile industry is a business and the companies involved are there to make money and try and maximize profits. You think any of the major shareholders at Textron is happy with their position of market share? Ride whatever ya want, wear whatever color underwear ya want...but to try and pound your chest that market share means nothing and Cat the best regardless of that is foolish. I wonder if you think Suzuki ATV's are the BEST even with their approx 6% market share

I am

If Polaris would have won it you would be blowing your load over it! Guess what that makes you?
No...I don't "blow my load" over any sled lol. I ride what I feel like, and switch it up OFTEN. If Cat ever brings back something interesting to buy I'd be willing to bet my money would be down on a spring order faster than yours. Come out with a limited release new chassis that they legally allowed to sell in Canada...I'll swing by the dealer the same day and drop my money on one. Till then GEN 4 skidoo and Polaris Matryx for me.

Oh, that new plastic on the Poo makes it so new it almost hurts and the G 4 Doo that the aftermarket companies have to make bracing to keep the sled from splitting apart. But they do have cool gauges I suppose.

Yep, that was 7 model years ago, and at the time the 2014 Cat's 600 CTEC was not a bad motor but the competition quickly caught up and kept moving foward. Whereas, the 2021 CTEC 600 offers the same performance as the 2014 CTEC 600 which is apparently not enough to compete in the real world:

Also, not many Cats on this list:

Cat does not need to be the best to thrive but with the oldest designs and technology, they need to be the VALUE leader which is hard to do if there isn't any Cat dealers around.

Are you even qualified to make an accurate comparison on the sleds you seem to know so much about?
My opinions (and yes even you are allowed to have one) come from actually owning these sleds and putting thousands of miles on the various chassis. NONE are perfect but some definitely better than others. I personally have never added any bracing to MY rev, xp, xr, xs, or GEN 4 sled and have put plenty of miles on them without "splitting apart"

As entertaining as it is...your banter doesn't really mean squat because its based on zero personal experience from what I can see. It's not about getting into a dick swinging sled sword with you...but feel free to post a list of all these great and shitty sleds that YOU have owned or spent so much time on to be able to gather an informed opinion about. I'd venture a guess my list will be longer...and will include CAT, Yamaha, Skidoo and Polaris. Zero brand biased blinders over my eyes.

You said cats 600 was dead last but I see it beat the Doo. ET is what wins drag races. Cant have it both ways

No more qualified than you are but the Axys chassis is exactly the same as it was when first introduced under that in my personal opinion a rather fugly plastic and about the Doo. This is the only sled that the aftermarket makes new structural reinforcing kits for and they continue to add new reinforcement to it. You would think the leader in market share (Could care less) would see that there sled cannot take abuse and do the reinforcing themselves to save there customers some $$$$$$$. You cant fix stupid I guess is a real thing.

Cats 600 is as fast if not faster than the Poo and the Doo and the 800 did beat both the 850's in the shoot out last year yet you call them sub par? What an IDIOT!

dont be retarded.

You know that isn't possible for him.

To get this back on track. Super simple. If Cat sold sleds and the dealers could make money they would still be open. It is easy to sell a succesful business, not easy to give away a failing one.
My dealer has had no problem selling sleds, ATV's or side x sides of cat brand. No failing here. I am not the one looking for the door on the short bus Deep. You are like an Irish Setter. If we put a leash on you, you would get lost!

You sir are a moron, and make all sledders look bad. Maybe it's not your fault...sounds like everyone in the your area a little challenged too. Could be the water, or maybe the family tree's all share the same trunk. Either way...enjoy your winter on whatever sled you decide to ride.

FACTS to remember
Many Cat dealers closing (more than any other brand I'd guess.) But I don't like to make statements without fact checking them first
Cat is not the sales leader in sleds, ATV's, Side by sides, or anything else for that matter.

Carry on.....................

Wow, guess we're back in the typical Cat VS Everyone debate again LOL ! Amazes me how some of these butt hurt Madcatters will defend their brand to the end when they are just wrong ! I bought a Cross Country 9000 this year and am hoping that it will exceed my expectations compared the 2016 8000 and 9000 RR's I owned previously . I still have my 850 and 600 Axys sleds too - never can have too many sleds and I will say brand loyalty is way over rated. It doesn't matter what you ride as long as it puts a smile on your face .. They all will break and have issues and they all are junk - that's a fact and I am fortunate to have a Poo and Cat dealer 25 minutes from where I live.

And I know of two dealers that have just opened in the last couple of years. One is in Bemidji. I know of a couple of Poo dealers that shuddered there doors. I think calling me and where I live challenged is a little off base but no surprise coming from a butt hurt Poo rider!
