Is there anyone that has got to do some riding worth mentioning yet?
Been watching snow conditions on SSA and the SE corner seems to have the best/most snow, second to Hudson Bay area???
Im getting anxious. 2 new sleds to break in and not enough snow here to make a snowball.

Went out on the Pro-X in the ditches and quickly across a bay in La Ronge yesterday. Ditches were mediocre at best, need another 10cm to make it decent, bay was pretty horrendous, tiny little dusting on top of ice, traction was poor. Supposed to get some snow today so we'll see how it goes.

Manitoba is open. With the 35cm we'll be getting on Christmas day , (along with the 30cm we received 3 weeks ago) and the 2nd most popular premier in Canada next to Brad Wall, we are waiting for your hard earned dollars.

What's a premier? :c-n:

Looks like we are getting 1cm in the next 24-48, cant wait to bust out the long track! Another season off to a great start...

Side note its also a balmy -34 currently and a little too frosty to even enjoy the meager snow conditions that we have.

Saskatoon and area received 15ish cm of snow 29-30th. We now have 15.25cm of snow with no base. Maybe some cold weather and wind which are both a guarantee in this province will set it up abit.

Couple of the clubs in the SE have trails open and have groomed at least once to flatten the trails and get a base started. We have ridden south of Grenfell over to Moose Mountain Park and back on two occasions this week and considering the amount of snow the trails are in decent riding shape. That being said, if you are worried about hearing the odd stone making a noise on your ski then stay home. The trails cross a lot of farmland and the small hills do not have as much as in the flats but overall are rideable IMO. Lots of people riding in Moose Mountain Park and I understand that anything east of Carlyle is quite good and the local clubs there are getting things going. Remember it has been 2-3 years since they have had any groomable snow so it takes awhile to get the volunteers up to speed once again and everything on a schedule. Take your time on the trails and pay attention to the signage and you will be fine. Be carefull out there.

Put 85 miles on from Esterhazy down through Tantalon over to Rocanville and then back to Esterhazy through the Finland shelter. Trails are decent. Some spots had dirt coming through (hill tops etc) but overall very rideable. Lots of deer in the valleys.

Rode Indian Head to Broadview and back today. 90% fresh groomed trails and the Grenfell loop has been done 2 or 3 times now and has set up quite nicely. Signing is pretty much completed, warm up shelters all stocked. Local clubs have been working their tails off to get things going and really deserve a big shout out. 155 miles today.

You can definitely ride out here. The further east and south you go the better. You need a guide I wouldn't mind helping you out. Like mentioned on this thread the esterhazy guys have groomed se to tantallon and its rideable. As long as you have scratchers on that assault.

Might do the Indian Head to Grenfell and back run this Saturday. Does the gas station on the west side of Indian Head let you park and unload there? If not, where's best place in Indian Head to unload and park?

We parked at the Shell on the east side of town. Used the south side of the lot next to the propane tank stand. Asked the attendant before we unloaded. The old elevator is now a residence so don't park too close to the building. If you park near the Esso on the west side I would suggest parking across the hwy by the ice cream place or anywhere west of that because nothing else is out there. You can then ride the service road ditch to the Shell and pop up over the tracks to catch the trail heading east. I plan on taking my wife out for her first ride of the season on Friday but will most likely trailer to Wolseley in order to take advantage of the warm up shelters south of Grenfell. There is one very nice shelter just west of Wolseley on the trail as well.
