Hey guys we are looking for a place to go riding because there is no snow up here in Sault Ste. Marie. We dont want to drive like longer than 8 hours. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best riding conditions to head up to. Thanx alot
2.5 hrs north of the soo is chapleau. The conditions as of this post are as follows:
-the game preserve area I mentioned in the link above are still great for riding\ice fishing.
-trails close to town were semi-rideable but since we got rain yesterday we need more snow to make them enjoyable again, in other words OFSC trails close to town are not groomed and are not really good for riding
-the river snow has gone down again to mostly ice, the river is ice fishable and there are huts on it but until we get a bit of "traction snow" for the river it's best driven with studs for good acceleration.
We're supposed to get some more snow tomorrow and this week, it's snowing right now but small amounts, nothing major. hth
