Question to all clubs in New Hampshire and elsewhere. Are there any clubs that have applied and been granted the federal IRS 501© tax exemtption certification? If so what classification was granted? 501©(3) charitable? 501©(7) social or other 501© type?

Also have any clubs filed incorporation papers?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I filed the incorporation and 501C3 federal papers for The Great North Woods Riders ATV Club, Inc. about 4 or 5 years ago.

The forms exsist on the web and you can print them out with the directions on how to fill them out and file them. You need the state non-profit incorporation papers and state tax ID before you file the non-profit federal papers.

P.S. it turned out to be a real pain since our name has "Great North Woods" in it. I had to get permission to use it from all other corporations that use that same phrase in their name here in NH. It took about a year and a half to finally get everything done. :banghead:

P.P.S. don't forget to file tax returns each year even though the 501C3 paper work isn't finished. :div20:

Thanks Mark. I have all the forms from the IRS website. The club, I beleive, already has the exemption status via a letter from the Attorney General but nor sure on a number.
