My son can't use contacts, and laser surgery is not an option. Is there a anti fog coating that actually works? I have tried these 3 and the best seems to be the Cat Crap. And those results were marginal at best. I'm not looking to go buy a new helmet as I just got him a new one but its looking like that may be the best option.

I've been sledding for 45 years with glasses. I've tried everything to fix fogging glasses. Every trade show I'd come home with the latest snake oil that promised to eliminate fogging glasses. I can say with confidence, nothing works. Best solution I've found is a good heated shield. For the first few minutes of the ride the glasses fog up, but as the shield heats up my glasses also clear up.

I have a few things laying around to use but Cat Crap in the gel form seems to work the best for me. Along with a Modular 2 helmet with the breath box and I don't use an electric shield. You have to make sure the box fits on your nose and mouth well but it works and then when going into a heated building the glasses treatment keeps them from fogging over.

I wear contacts most of the time but when I have to wear my glasses I have found that just regular liquid dish soap wiped on both sides and cleaned off of the lens and using OTG (over the glasses) goggles with a powered fan works for me.

It eliminates the majority of the vapor coming from your mouth/nose because your glasses are not in the same confined space...

I also know someone that uses the Ski Doo BV2 (I think that's it) aviator like helmet and has great success with it. I don't like it because your mouth area gets soaking wet it feels all the time and it doesn't work well for communicators....

I've been using a BV2S for 12 years without a heated shield and my glasses have never fogged up. Until this year. The mask is dying and won't seal properly any more. Picking up my new EX-2 Enduro on Friday.

Update 2/13/18 The EX-2 is a pain to keep defogged. It's not bad when the temps are above 20 degrees Fahrenheit and the front and rear vents are open and you keep the visor cracked. But it's a disappointment after the BV2S. I like the fit and it is quieter than the BV2S, but unless I can come up with a breath deflector that works, it's out of here.

Update 2/19/18. FIXED!!! I just got back from a hard ride in single digit temps (Fahrenheit) and did not have any problems with fogging at all. I rode hard enough to work up a sweat (thanks to the tight twisty trails in the Rangeley Maine area) and even disconnected the visor heater for a while. It took about 5 minutes for a little fogging to start on the sides of the sun shield. I purchased a Respro Foggy mask from Amazon for a test. It took about 5 minutes to install and adjust it. It has velcro that attaches to the cheek pads and comes with a large velcro patch to attach the front of the mask to the inside of the front of the helmet. That piece would have blocked the air intake so I used a 1/2" wide piece of sticky backed velcro just under the air vent and two small pieces of gorilla tape where the mask comes off of the cheek pads. I rode with the front and rear vents open which provided enough ventilation so my face stayed cool. :fistpump2::fistpump2::fistpump2:
