Was in Gaylord MI. at the Cat dealer getting my rope fixed (Before I installed Jeff's fix) and the dealer showed me a larger intake for the standard. It's by Cat and is the same size as the one on the Sno Pro. Has anyone tried this? What was the outcome?
I haven't heard this one yet but I think I know what's happening. You must have an early machine. Arctic Cat ,as part of their changes with the heat exchangers etc, also enlarged the airboxes on later F7 versions. This was only to reduce intake noise and shouldn't have any effect on power. Yours must be an early VIN machine. Like I said don't worry about power loss, yours is just a little louder then ours. I think i would rather have the smaller box, just for the better sound
I bought one for mine to but have not put it on yet. it is the stock intake tube for 2003 440 sno pro. it has a larger hole and only cost 7 bucks. Speedwerx makes a aluminun and cost like 60 bucks claimed 3 HP.
