caputos performance has 700miles on a 9R swap in a xcr. as of now, its beats the stock boost up to 1000ft. they seem super happy with it. it was ridden in the quebec trails. no idea how its set up but looks like they are very pleased about it.

i know jesse james from south side has done the same swap but no feedback yet on how it performed. they had trouble with the speedo not working because ecu dosent convert the pulse it sees to a mph reading for the 7s.

maybe polaris wanted to push trail boost sales before releasing the next faster thing in stock form?

Post form their facebook page. ITS TIME TO LET THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG. YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY "IF YOUR NOT FIRST, YOUR LAST"!! INTRODUCING THE FIRST 2023 9R XCR 136" CAPUTOS PERFORMANCE HAS BEEN TRAVELING NORTH OF THE BORDER FOR THE LAST 3 WEEKS GATHERING DATA , CLUTCHING, AND TUNING THIS TRAIL WEAPON. WE HAVE OVER 700 MILES SO FAR. THATS RIGHT ITS A 2023 9R XCR 136. THE ULTIMATE TRAIL WEAPON THAT POLARIS DIDNT BUILD. WE DID!!! WE TOOK AN ALREADY STELLAR MACHINE , SENT OUR SUSPENSION TO Hygear Suspension FOR REVALVING AND RESPRINGING. WE ADDED SLP MOHAWH SKIS AND WOODYS STUDS. WE CAN SAY WITHOUT HESITATION THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE BADDEST SLEDS WE HAVE EVER BUILT, ITS A PURE ADRENALINE RUSH FROM THE SECOND YOU GRAB THE THROTTLE, IT ACCELERATES FASTER AND HARDER THEN THE ALREADY POTENT 850, THE EXTRA TORQUE AND HP THIS MOTOR DELIVERS IS A PURE PLEASURE THAT IS SURE TO MAKE YOU SMILE. WE WILL HAVE OUR CLUTCHING PACKAGE FINALIZED HERE SHORTLY SO IF POLARIS DECIDES TO BUILD A 9R TRAIL SLED WE ARE WAY AHEAD OF THE GAME. WE WILL CONTINUE TO LEARN AMD GATHER DATA FROM THIS SLED AS THE WINTER GOES ON BUT WE JUST WANTED TO SHARE OUR FIRST INITIAL THOUGHTS. WE HAVE SEVERAL CUSTOMERS RUNNING THIS SAME PACKAGE THAT WE SET UP THE CLUTCHING AND GEARING FOR, SO WE WILL HAVE PLENTY OF INFO REGARDING THIS MOTOR COMES NEXT SEASON

What are they running for primary? South side has a p85 on theirs I saw. Someone is claiming a boost is 3-4 sleds faster in 400 ft with the swap than a p22.
Don’t forget you can add a tune and make 230 hp on race gas with a boost pretty easy also.
In stock unaltered form I believe the 9r is faster with nothing changed on the boost the way it currently sets.
Both good for Polaris 👍🏻

There was a lot of chatter up in Quebec this past weekend, seems that the pizza guy was the King of Lac Taureau and LE Cabanon on his 9r XCR recently.

Not arguing that. Also says as of now it beats a stock boost in 1000 ft.
I stated above good for Polaris for having both.
Options are good. I’m not worried about any 9r on the lake is all I will say👍🏻
There is also the option to have a 9r with a turbo 😉
What are they doing with the stock motors?
Are they for sale

That does seem confusing, because the 9R can option a 7SDD gauge, and all the MY23 Matryx sleds use the same brake rotor speed sensor.
There is NO Left hand handlebar control ($465US) to operate the 7SDD gauge, so it has to be operated by the controls on the sides of the gauge, and the touchscreen control.

Now, SmartWarmers might be a problem, the 9R has hi/low/off handle bar and thumbwarmers. No left hand Control with the computer to manage SmartWarmers.

I'm thinking I might have to have one of them SBA 9R to compliment my SBA Boost. Boost = big trail/strip. 9R = tight trail/off trail. Anyone figure out how to ride both at same time?

You guys are talking about triples... Right?

I ran the Carl's 900 Kit for a short 260 miles last year just before trails turned to mud. I probably should have ran the Carl's more this year to get a real full feel for it before my eagerness for something new started gaining traction in my sick mind. Over the Spring and Summer I decided to pull the Carl's 900 Top End and re-box it up and put it on the shelf for a bit.. Even though I only ran the Carl's kit 3 days before MUD I will say that I enjoyed it the short time I ran it.

Even though I had the Carl's 900 in my late arriving 2022 Assault I still had high interest in the 9R with the lighter Crank and Flywheel that was suspected to be Snowcheckable for 2023. With my Trail and Offtrail riding the quicker spooling 9R just sounds more awesomer. "How's that for bad english" :ROFLMAO: Of course, I had to SnowCheck the 2023 Boost Assault because the 9R never happened for and the Boost was the only crazy new trail options for 2023 Snowcheck. Polaris again had the thumb in ass disease this year and my Boost hasn't arrived yet and I'm highly considering backing out on it at this point. Reasoning for that is I'm more of a trail and offtrail rider than high straight line speed guy. When I think of the 9R -vs- a stock Boost I feel the 9R is the better suit for me. If I do get the Boost I'd absolutely have no intention of running it stock. The Boost stock is a tease for what it would be with a tune. Personally, with the 850 Boost I'd have to drop the 900 in it with a tune. "JUST BECAUSE"

This year I dropped two new engines that I had built for me over the Summer in my 2021 and 2022 Assault's.
Each motor is a little different and probably nothing like anybody has tried here before? Don't ask... I'll start a thread later in the season when I get more time dialing these in, on the saddle.
Currently I have a 2021 850 motor with 2,000 miles on the shelf. Another 2022 850 with 0 miles and a Carl's 900 Top End with 260 miles both on the bench as well.

For guys that enjoy warranties and who really doesn't? I would like to try one of these 9R Assault's to see what extra is felt in Trail and Off Trail riding with a warranty intact.
I know for anybody that's into building nasty motors and tricking out Boost's that the 9R is a bunch of Fluff. I still would like to see what POO puts on the table with it??

Ummm for anyone that’s into building building a nasty Boost they are better off just going with a n/a 850 or 900 and then adding an aftermarket turbo setup or building their own turbo setup. The Boost is limited with its turbo size and being non intercooled. Not that it can’t be changed on the boost but at that point I would go a different route.

Lost count of how many posts from boost owners and others claiming they easily beat an NA 850. Far more than the other way around.

When the sidewinders came out plenty of claims on people beating those too. All this stuff seems like Groundhog Day. Any sled can lose . And it’s usually because of traction

Yeah I’ve never lost to a stock turbo cat or Yamaha with a 800 or 850.

I could beat all my friends 800s and 850s at the time with my 19 850 etec. My buds father in law stock xtx would beat me every time. On top end. And it had a 1.75 track lol. My 850 hit 108 gps on a dirt road in 30 degree temps. Ran pretty strong

Guess we’ll see how slow this piece of crap is soon. Trip with sone friends next week. Heading up right now with the wife but will be two up

Looks like a decent win and they let off pretty early. Not sure what everyone was expecting . Looked like a good 3-4 sleds in a shortish run when they let off. That’s about what I would expect maybe nothing strange about it imo. The guy commenting must have been watching a different race than me

What's the consensus for boost peak hp rpm? 8000? had mine running at 8100-8150, no deto yet. it's set up for 8050 next time out. See how that goes.
N/A vs Boost. in my situation the Boost SBA was a lot of fun in the powder with stock clutching at 8350-8400. Slow on the hardpack. Holy belt dust batman! My N/A SBA with clutching biased to off trail is similar off trail but quicker on hardpack. Equivalent track and gear on both sleds. I've proved it to myself that my Boost makes more power than my N/A, it just doesn't put it down with stock clutching. At 1800 to 2200ft where I ride the boost feels strong compared.

9R vs Boost- 9R with more power than 850 and quicker revving stock, I'm putting my money on 9 in shorter stuff for now.
In my limited SBA experience don't plan on winning too may races with a stock clutched Boost
I intend on tuning my Boost someday but for now it's gonna be good as I learn a boosted sled

1st year sled.
Only 3000 Guinea Pigs that bought them.
Many still haven't been delivered and most of us are in a Low snow and un-safe lake ice season.
Reports and testing are coming slow but eventually we will iron out the wrinkles and find the faults and fixes.
Polaris as usual will listen to what us Guinea Pigs speak and talk about.
You can expect that next year's model will have improvements.
More than just a little new tech here in the Boost.

"This new Boost platform isn't and won't be any different than any other 1st year prototype."

I would consider the MY22 Matryx RMK Boost sleds to be the 1st year production sleds. The Matryx platform was in production in 2020, so there were plenty of chassis available for test mules, the AXYS mountain tunnels can easily be installed.
The Matryx Flatland Boost had test mules available, in 2020, and the power package itself could be tested in AXYS production sleds.
