Hey guys, I have a 99 ZR 500 and I have a few questions.
#1, is there anyone that makes a seat wedge or taller seat for my sled? I have a 4" pivoting riser and its perfect for standing up (most of my riding) but on the trails its a little high.

#2 Does anyone make a kit to get more travel, and lift the front of the sled up a few inches? If not I am probably going to custom make something but it would be easier to just buy it lol.

#3 Those brackets on the tunnel below where the top of the skid bolts in, can you remount the skid there to drop it, or would I have to buy/make brackets for that?

#4 What would be the best way to strip the paint off the tunnel and polish it? I have access to a body shop so I can use their equipment if you think that would work fine.

#5 Does anyone make supports for the running boards? Mine are starting to sag a little bit after jumping and just being used I guess. If the funds allowed I would get a custom tunnel but I am not going to pour that kind of money into this sled.

Thanks,
Mike

ok,

1. BOSS SEAT
2. Black magic
3. JUST DROP THEM IN...but imo looks very stupid.
4. aircraft paint stripper but strip the sled to the chasis first.
5. rox treads should beef them up a bit

I haven't been able to find the ROX treads either, anyone else got a site?

I might try to a budget build on this and just add foam to the seat and make a custom cover.

The suspension is pretty spendy and all it says is that it will increase travel, I would like some more height also but I will research it more and then decide if i should go custom or not.

I am in process of striping the tunnel and polishing it, that is the easiest part of this project haha.

All other suggestions and comments are welcome!!!

i stripped my tunnel with paint stripper. then toke a 1/2 piece of rebar and pounded that into the tunnel roll. i am now making tunnel supports like the firecat ones in metals at school. look in "my garage" in my sig for pics of the tunnel.

Ok guys, got everything else figured out, now I have two more questions.

1. I am going to get 2 filters to replace the big honkin air box and try free up a few more ponies, what ones (part #'s if you can) would you go with? I would assume pre-filters (aka filter wraps?) are a must?

2. How in the sam hell do you get the lower A arms off? I cant for the life of me get a wrench on the nut on the rear of the arm! I am gettin ticked as hell haha.

I would leave the airbox in, and if you want to raise the front, tighten up the front springs and the front end will go up. Personally, I like mine loose so the front end is on the ground. The sled corners a lot better that way (personal preference).
