Hi,
I took my rear clutch apart to clean and the slider buttons had
worn to the point where the helix was metal to metal. I cleaned
it up but was thinking about replacing it. I was wondering if I
should just replace this one or is there something that would
work better. The sled has an slp single pipe, vforce 3 reeds
and a boost bootle 190/195 jets and a 1370g needle #3.
Current clutch setup is as follows

10-64 weights
blue/white primary
yellow secondary
44/36 helix

I'm not unhappy with this setup it pulls strong in the mid
maybe a little flat on the top but will hit 110 to 115 on
the speedo. What do you guys think?

Jon

ps this setup spins at 8000 all day long

If the secondary is the erlandson yellow, and your rpm are ok, it is fine. You could also go to more helix, but may have to change the primary and secondary springs. I would also drop the main jets back to stock 185/190, and change the needles to R1371G, 3rd or 4th clip.

Pockets,

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure of the origin of the yellow spring
or the helix for that matter. I bought the sled set up this way. I'm
think i'm going to run what I have and see how the buttons hold up.
If I decide to hold on to this sled another year I will probably replace
the whole setup this summer. What would you recommend for a complete
setup for this sled? Also thanks for the jetting info. Jon

Pockets, does the 97 xc 700 have the same stock jetting or is it 185/185 with no staggering due to the motor not having the coolant bypass. ??????
