I've got a 99 trail touring with the 500 (488) engine that I picked up from a friend last year. It has 4900 miles on it and the only major work he had done was a crank bearing at about 4000 miles. I've been told they are great motors. The only thing is if it is a fanner it won't be a real powerhouse, it is a great trail motor but you will fall behind across the lake. The most I've ever got out of it across a long field was about 72 on the speedo and I think that might be a little high 65-68 is a bit closer I think. I wouldn't trade mine but would like something a bit faster for me and give this to my wife. :twitch:
