price seems high, especially with that milage.

I bought my 99 zr 600 3 yrs ago w/ 3K miles for $2300.

ps if you buy the sled and are going to replace the pistons, go with stock over wiseco. more reliable and less chance of cold seizure.
good luck

If you feel thats a good price, OK. Seems high to me in the US. Take a compression test and see what the cylinders are reading first.

What should this engine read? My girlfriends ZR500 was reading 90lbs +- consistently. We thought it was low, so we did a top-end rebuild. Still 90lbs +-...

The sled runs great and tools right along.

90 lb's is way to low, new they run close to 140psi, I done mine the end of last winter with 4900miles it was 134-135psi, should try another guage, it shouldn't even run with 90psi. There might not have been to much wrong with it before if it didn't change.

Grab the clutch and make sure there is no play... 98's had crank issues, have seen it on several sleds, they will run fine, but if there is play then it is on its way out... with 7500miles if it hasn't been touched I would be careful. Good price though if it checks out ok.

With 7500 miles I'd be going through the hole sled ski's to snow flap but thats me. Shocks, suspension (bushings and all wear parts), hyfax, both clutches complete re-build, at least look at the pistons and jugs and put new rings in it. All bearings should be inspected and prob replaced (just cause). Oh ya, and tighten every bolt you can get a wrench on. But if your just going to be putting around close to home what the heck, just run it I guess.
