I used to run that length when I was ice racing on my 98 800 zrt. I never had it hit. But trail riding is a different game. If you knock a stud loose you might be in trouble. Also have to watch out too in the rear of the sled. If you land wrong and colapse the suspension its really close to the tunnel in rear too.
Its all trial and error, I use a Challenger solid block 1" track with 1.187 roetins. I run this track very loose due to the weight of the track and 192 studs, my front exchanger has alot of damage due to heavy braking and having it to loose. It all depends on what you want from your sled and how loose the track is.
