I have an Indy Trail 500 fan and looking to upgrade the stock clutching. It has a red/white primary spring, stock weights, stock 36?? helix with red secondary in the second hole, 96 studs. I'm just looking to get it to run the best for what it is, a 500 fan. It's my backup sled when the wifey wants to ride my 800xc :no_bashing: .

10a weights balanced to 55 gram, with a comet silver black primary spring with 3 .030 shims to up engagement

SLP 46/42-34 multi progressive helix, with HSP white spring hole # 3.

wide belt with clutch shimmed to .015 belt clearance

21-39 gears

I ran the above setup on a 87 Indy Trail 488. it was very surprising to 70 mph

That will work, also polaris red primary, 10A weights, hot seat white secondary #2, and a R12 or hot seat HSP36 helix, or HSP36S. Run 3-.030" shims under the snapring, 7000 rpm if you have a tach. Also remove the belt from the clutch cover, so that the fan outlet is not blocked.
