I have been hearing that there are some changes to the 850 motor for 2022.
Does anyone know if this is true?

Here is the link from the Polaris site regarding the 850. I also am curious if all the listed changes are 2022 updates or a composite list of improvements since inception

Looks like most of these are the new features of the Patriot engine when it first came out. But interested as well if there have been any updates for 2022.

video is from 2019. all the improvements/upgrades they listed look very similar to what they were talking about when they introduced the 850 in 2019. it woud be interesting to see what has changed

I have had 2 850 - 2019 and 2020 The 2019 used 1/2 the oil that the 2020 used and the 2019 got better mileage.
I had a 650 last year, 2021, and have gone back to the 850 for 2022.
The 650 is a great motor and maybe I should have stayed there but ????
The second-year is usually the best motor but it was not with the 850

We’ll see what happens this year, but it seems like it takes about 4 yrs before they get it dial in. The last 800 took 3-4 yrs depending how you look at it.

my 800 was an 18 and was a monster
1st year 2015, by 2017 they got it, and ‘18 they added a new head design for cooling.... so 4yrs. I’m hoping they have it for ‘22. Normally it’s a change to the piston design of the year, improvements to fuel mapping, improvement of overall runabiloty and hopefully relaxing some of the engine protection safe guards.

I would have to agree on the 800 and 850. But it doesn't look like it took 4 years to figure out the 650??

I get it. They certainly weren’t rushed to market by the competition. They kept the same 600 around for a lot of years. Maybe they were going to come out with the 650 earlier and got pushed by Doo to get an 850 out on the market. Who knows? But, it took them 10yrs to get an 800 where it was at in ‘18.

Do we know if the 2022 850 Non turbo will get the newer high resolution ECU?
The MATRYX sleds already had it in 2021. At least thats the response I got when I questioned this a few months ago, see below.

It's hard to say from the video because that information is confusing. I also noted on the Turbo's the ECU looks like its mounted in a new location? It sounds to me like the Boost gets a new flywheel and ECU. Does the N/A version or you guys are saying we already have it on the 21? Is the ECU on the 19-20 850 different?
