Not sure what thread to put this in - anyone rode the catalyst riot on the trail? Wondering how it would do. I'm not a big fan of the 137 slide action, at least on the procross, which I currently have. Would like to have some transfer - maybe it works better with the longer front arm on the catalyst? I see they have the ripsaw 1 on the 129, which I'm not a fan of. That might work but don't want to deal with changing a track right away. I'll probably ride my procross one more year unless I come across a good deal in the fall - probably unlikely. I'd like to test drive these and see which one works for me.

For a 129 the catalyst skid kinda sucks for railing trails. A lot of people might like because it is easy to ride a wheelie with and is better off trail than the coupled 129 procross. Adding shocks with rebound and compression adjustments will tame it down. Stock it will pull the skis 2 feet off the ground if you don’t watch it. The couple 129rr sleds I had back in the day were like rally cars. If cat made a coupling kit for it I would add it and it would probably take the 129 to the next level. When I added the ohlins to it drastically improved what you can do with the sled

That picture - and other angles - show the lobby of the factory. Aside from the receptionist, this is what you'd see when you walk in the front door, just to the left of the receptionist. The pictures were taken by Troy Halvorson. If I had to guess, I'd say it's one of the first, if not the first, EXT Special off the line. I'm suddenly feeling the need for a factory tour....

Yeah, when I first saw this picture, I thought it looked too pink. But I think if we saw the 1971 and 2026 in person side by side, it's probably a match in color to the 1971 original.

I didn't order one, preferring to put a bit more time and money into my 2024 Catalyst this summer. However, I think the new EXT is a very good sign for the future.

Overpriced and slow...It's a wonderful combination...Wake me up when CAT pulls their head out of their arse and builds another high performance chaincase chassis with some speed built into it...YAWN
