What is everyone seeing for top speed on their dreamometer? I am wondering about stock sleds but if you have a flash and exhaust feel free to post as well. Full race sleds need not respond. Thanks!

stock 03 f7 would do 110, stock CFr 1000 would do 120. Stock 1100 turbo 110 but she's got a mid range powerband that can't be touched and long term reliability. 1100 turbo is long term proven and just plain rough tough and horny in power delivery. And it sounds like shit doing it too. Nothing pretty about it, kinda like the 1000, nothing pretty about those either. Just results

Stock Tcat with 144 studs. Groomed trail near Grand Marais Mi I saw 112 with about 400 miles on it.
I'm sure there was alot of spinning but it sure felt like 112 lol. Haven't found any ice yet...
I couldn't be happier its a sweet handling sled with tons of power.

That's almost 15% OD at 9000 RPM. I don't think the Cats will get there. At 10% OD (lucky) we'd be in the low 120's which is what I was shooting for with 21/41 gearing. Stock Cat gearing will only allow for mid teens which it looks like most are getting. I wouldn't gear it any further, they pull nice and hard from a dig with the 21/41 and it looks like yours tops out fine. In fact I'd probably run the Cat gearing if yours will OD that much, you'd still be at 120

I want to get it into the low 130's I have a few gear options I can try. It's a blast now, and will completely blow out the 192 studs it has...If I find it too "laggy" with the taller gearing..I can go back down a bit. I have 3 different ratio's to choose from without buying any more parts.

Just curious if you guys with the cats are blowing belts with this awsome TD powertrail tune? Those are some increadable speeds! My first ride i took (after tune) i blew a belt. Looks like she got really hot seeing how twisted and partially melted it was. I'm hoping it was just the way i was driving it...pulling wheelies all over the place. Since that episode i've been scrared to hold it wide open.

To get back on topic, the guy who set up my clutches and tune saw 111mph on speedo. 22/48 gearing. 1.75 track. 96 studs... he also said i need studs and gearing in a bad way lol but i dont want to gear it any higher if its already blowing belts..

oh yeah, i had 125miles on the clock when i melted my belt.

You are trying to do top speed with an off trail hybrid sled with short gears. The way to blow a belt on the cat is to overdrive the clutch too much with a lot of power.

If you plan to do top speed over 105 mph on your off trail setup, plan to gear up a little but you will lose some off trail ability.

The cats are having very good luck with belts in general, but I know that topping out the stock gear (on a short track sled) it's 124-126mph, can hurt the belt. especially if you run that speed for long distance.

Most of the guys stay out of deep overdrive and don't have belt issues. Gear up to stay out of deep overdrive.

oh yeah.. and when my belt blew, i was only doing a short blast (WOT for 4 or 5sec).. so i dont think i was into my overdrive.

I am not hearing of the Cats blowing belts. I have seen posts here and on FB of some Yammis blowing belts. I agree with Ben on speed runs with short gears, if you see the RPM's rise at full shift you are into the clutch too far.

I'm hoping that I can break into the low 130's. Won't be easy as I am not looking to go to a 1" track..or run less studs. 1.25" ripsaw and 192 big studs is not really a recipe for top speed lol...but it's sure fun on the trail. So even if I don't get over that 130 hump I'm ok with it....originally goal was 125 lmao

Had to go to torsional to get good all around
Backshift on hardpack is ok at best with stock setup but when you get into loose snow it swallows belt.

Torsional conversion is a good low price upgrade in the stock secondary
I think its a big improvement when the sled is stock without tunes also
Stock helix works good also
We did stm torsional upgrade

I may have a couple powertrail programs available first part of week if anyone is looking
Pm me if youre interested
Could do ecu swap and this is on 17
