Has anybody had issues with these sleds being extremely tippy? Anybody have any suggestions on setup or changing ski stance? Any help would be appreciated.
First thing you need to do is check the adjustment on front skid shock. It needs to be loosened of almost to where it rattles. Then soften up your front ski shocks again really soft. That should allow it to settle down better on the front end. Then ride it and keep tightening up the front ski shocks a little at a time until you get a happy spot for steering effort and just enough suspension you don’t bottom out on big bumps. Other options are. A heavier sway bar or even pulling the limiter strap up a hole. But try adjustments first.
This is an ailment that afflicts virtually every Japanese-built four-stroke Yamaha sled (most notably all two-up models). Try giving Star Suspensions (Star Suspensions) a call, Robert cut his teeth getting Yamahas to handle properly. If there's a no-cost way to doing it he'll likely know and tell you.
