The tunnel isn't really designed handle the weight of a passenger back too far. I believe the decal on the tunnel says no more that 15 lbs. Probably the closest thing you could do is put a Switchback Assault seat on, but that's not going to give you much more room.

Simply put, u bought a mountain sled not a two up sled. Your trying to do things that rmk wasn't ment to do.

 

There is a basic 2 up seat you can put on a 550 indy 144. I am guessing that seat will work for you.

ya was thinking about it,
it's for odd times that would bring the lady out.
might have to custom fab a bracket for it though since the oem seat is shorter

 

LOL! Well I hope your wife isn't too hefty, or you're going to bend that tunnel. As said above, they aren't made to ride two up

 

I have ridden two up for a day or so with my girl, she's 125lbs.. It was fine and my tunnel isn't bent. Not saying I would recommend it, or do it for a long period of time. But for a casual trail ride it's fine.

Shortly after that I bought her a sled, lol

No I don't have it and I am not positive it would fit so be sure to verify with dealer first.

 

question! what did you end up doing to solve the problem of possibly bringing another rider on your mountain sled once in awhile? thank you!
