pop the cover off the servo motor, and slide the cables off. then tug on the end of the cable, while holding onto the metal corner tube. there should be 1 1/4"-1 3/8" of cable showing when you pull it tight.
Your owner's manual should give you this info. I don't know the measurement, but make sure they are both the same, whatever they should be. I use a dial caliper to measure them, and it works good and is very accurate. To check the servo just start the engine and run the engine up to 4 grand or so then let off- they should cycle (for cleaning purposes).
