2001 XCSP 800 crank bearing trouble shooting

With all of the talk about the weakness of the 2001 XCSP 800 crank bearing and the fact some let go prematurly is there any tell tale sign that it is going bad? Will the clutch get "loose" and have some movment before it goes? Other then ripping it down any preventative stuff that I can do. The sled only has 1500 miles. About when do they typically let go and I'm assuming they all dont let go. I've seen some high mileage 800 out there as well with no problems. Comments from expeirence would be apreceiated

Thanks,
