I just purchased a 2000 ZRT800. I have already swapped to 900 cylinders and I am wondering if I should dump the stock airbox and put on Uni or K&N filters or use the box? I heard or read somewhere something about the stock box really does not flow well and removing it will give you much better power. I am moving up from a 98 Tcat and I had filters on this and it really hauled ass so I dont know what to do. I would like to keep the airbox/tool kit on this sled. Is there any mods you can do to the airbox to help it? I think I read somewhere that you can drill 4 or 5 1inch holes in it to open it up a bit?

Any help will be appreciated

thanx.

I run a D&D powerbreather on mine, and jetted accordingly. Really seemed to do the trick. I have heard of others just drilling holes into the stock airbox too. As far as K&N filters, I guess that would be good too, but then you have to deal with mounting the CDI/coils.
