My97 Shop Manual states the following for 0-3000 ft:
1. Primary wts:10M bushed
2. Spring: Gold
3. Secondary spring: Red in hole #2
4. Engagement rpm: 4000 +/- 300
5. Operating rpm: 7800 +/- 200

The gold spring is rated at 100-275
Your dark blue spring is rated at 120-310?

Thus, your engagement and operating rpm should be much higher than stock already.
If not, then you may have something else wrong. Make sure that the secondary spring is properly tensioned 1/3 turn and buttons are in good condition.

I've use the old polaris blue with the stock weights in the primary, and a custom cut 38/34 helix and slp black spring in the driven clutch for my indy 500's i use to trail ride. Back in the day it'd destroy those bigger cats.
