On our big triples I pull the choke right before shut down when it's going to be really cold. On the first pull of the morning I normally pull it slow and easy. It seems to help loosen it up a bit. Then on the second one it's loosened up a bit more so I let 'er rip.

You can also wrap a heating pad around the block if it's really cold out there.

I hope this helps.

I know this is a old thread but I`m going to try a 12 volt heating pad. I`ll put alligator clips on the wires so I can hook it up to the truck battery.
