I have a 2005 fusion 900 with 3000 miles on it witha slp can and can only get about 108 out of it a 2001 xc 700 can stay beside me whats up and has anyone had chain case explosion trouble and what gearing should i be running

it's not your gearing, it's your clutching!!

the angles are too shallow on the stock helix and it is not shifting out fully,

New belt on the sled? old belt? Check to see if the sled was geared down from stock, that was everyones first attempt at saving belts, then EPI & Polaris offered a clutch kit that saved belts, and slowed it down even more.

get the gearing back to stock if it isn't, and try a 66-44 or 70-46 helix in that sled, you should gain a couple on top real easy and notice better mileage.

One more thing, this sled is not a lake racer, it is a trail sled. look at how high this thing is, all that wind resistance will slow you down too.

I'm running a 26 on top, works awesome. I've heard that the can actually hurts your hp.. try an air box if you can, huge difference, non of this matters if your clutching is off. On good ice, i'm running a pretty consistent 118.
