My wife averaged 12-13 mpg - I guess you can tell who is more into the throttle

Changed 380 main jets to 360s and then finally 350s all last year on both my F5s

I know this is a F6 and its EFI, but I want people to know what EFI firecats get compared to carb polaris's.

I went on a trip with my uncle, he had a 2004 Polaris 600 Vertical Escape 144" and I had a 2004 F6 EFI. When we reached the a 1/4 of the way through the trip I had 2/3 of a tank and he had a 1/4. We both filled up. When we were 3/4 of the way to home he was almost empty and I had 1/3 of a tank left. He filled up, I didnt. When we got home he had just over half a tank and i was near empty. I was getting just under about double the gas mileage he was getting. He was really impressed with the gas mileage i was getting. Hes selling his Vertical Escape this year and getting an older RMK 136" like an 2002. Hes selling it because it wouldnt carve in the snow at all and it ratcheted in the powder. It also handled like shit on the trails.

You tell me what gets better gas mileage!

I say most sled get 8-12 ...so who really cares.

I may want to know on my truck or car but my sled...why ...if your car was advertised at 18 mpg but you were on and off the throllte and pinning it for short bursts then for long strtaitaway ...its only gonna get 10 mpg.

Its not like you cruising 20 down every trail with the cruise on.

You ride hardpack trails....good
Heavy wet snow....bad
extreme cold temps...good
woarm temps...bad
high elevation off trail...bad
mountian...bad

my main riding partner has a 2001 pro-x 600
and against my f6 efi its a buck diffrence at the pump in his favor...why

track lugs mine 1.375 his 1.00. i ride ina an out of the throttle thes steady. i hit it on the straits and out of the corner. hes a bit more conservative vs. me. and in the end . a half gallon diffrence. who cares.

if i am going across the country they conserving fuel...maybe...but then i would want 4 stroke.

Now compare a ZR/ZL600EFI vs the Poo 600 ves

Its not the EFI that is giving you the better mileage it is the engine design that makes it more eficient :fluffy:

I think thats where you will see the biggest difference.

1. Sno Pro Track or Standard (1.00 inch or 1.375)
2. Jetting and fuel and air screw settings, If you still have the stock jetting and fuel screw settings its pretty fat, but safe.
3. Riding style, yes you can drive like a grandma, but what fun is that. However, on that note, I only get slightly better mileage when I ride with say, my father (I ride slower), or the boy (he's just starting to learn, so we go slow), versus "the Guys"..

But also, like said above, that difference is MAYBE a gallon AT the MOST.

I would say put 350's in it, if you are between sea level and 2500 feet, and you aren't gonna pin the throttle forever when its 10 below.
