I was checking for a gummed up exhaust solenoid on a 02 zr 440 and snapped off one of the nipples. I went to the dealer for another and noticed the 03 zr 440 doesn't have one. Instead, separate hoses run out of the bellypan to vent. Should I change my 02 to this setup or replace the solenoid and continue to clean it?

I bought the sled secondhand from a racer. He gave me the bulletins from AC Race School, one paid particular attention to the exhaust solenoid being cleaned regularly. Mine was ziptied to the coolant tube between the cylinders,it has 2 1/4 nipples on it and a 2 wire plug. "With the engine running remove the rubber exit hose that leads to the bellypan. Rev the engine over 4500 rpm, feel for pressure exiting the solenoid. If pressure is not felt unscrew the halves and clean with solvent."Its tech name is "EXHAUST VALVE AREA CONTROL". Its supposed to aid in acceleration. :D
