B) Sweet. I'm glad I waited before dropping all my own cash to have the thing rebuilt--- Now, does that replacement apply to all CC's or only ones with non-functioning shocks??? (My bud has one as well and seems to work ok, but we're just waiting for it to give up) Thanks for the info guys.

I'm trying to find out what's changed on the replacement shock. Mine was rebuilt under warranty over the summer due to manfacturing defects I found on the shaft when I pulled it from the skid to get it serviced. I'll post if I can find any further details and whether all, or just troublesome shocks are included.

chicos snopro,

Yes, it applies to ALL 600 & 800 ZR CC's(500 CC are not listed on the service bulletin... I wonder why??) and is NOT limited to "non-functioning" shocks.

After logging a whopping 300 miles on my 800 EFI CC the last month, after a fresh rebuild (at my cost) before these miles
My rear flap is grooming the snow, this sucks !!!
I had them done under warranty last season, and new heavier springs put in also.
Does anyone have a bulletin # ??
I am quite sure Sun and Snow will take care of me, but I want to go in ready to fight for new shocks !!! just in case.
Please help

oK I have question , do you think CAT will warrenty the front REmote ADjuster / shock that I bought in 2002 from the accessories cataloge , it came valved like a 2002 ZR-800cc.

I paid almost a grand for this thing and its blown up over 8 times and at $190.00 a rebuild .. it really sucks...

mr-zr,
I have some swamp land for sale. :p
$190.00 per rebuild??? What are they replacing? The seals and oil are worth about $30.00 max. You shouldn't pay more than half of that unless Lako is doing them for you each time.
My dealer charges CA$70.00 (US$44.00) each. Shock specialists other than AC dealers charge even less likely due to reduced shop labour rates.

mr-zr,
I should add that if you're breaking the lines it may be due to incorrect installation. I had 680 miles on my CCE last year with no problems. My dealer insists that most all broken dail-adjust oil lines fail due to incorrect re-installation after being serviced. Placement of the line along the front arm is critical and it must be secured well to resist damage from ice build-up.

WEll its like this There is only one place that REbuilts shocks here and they charge whatever they want .

I have never broken a line , its like about 20-30 minutes of rough driving the thing just starts to bang on the rails , Ive blown the rubbers stoppers off a few times.

Basically what happens is I take the shocks to CAt(dealer) and he sends them up the road around the corner to polaris ......

MAYBE THE POLARIS DEALER IS SABATOGING MY SHOCKS!!!

Musky,

Thats allways an option only problem is I live 1500miles away from a major city . gotta loves Canada's Arctic!!!

ANd I think those shock places you mentioned are in the states?

anyways Trust me IT's still cheaper for me to bring the shocks to cat/polaris as teh price of shipping from here would kill me.

My understanding is that the dealer here is hiring some dude from down south to built shocks , as tehre is a bit of money to be made up here doing it !!!!!

The bulletin can be found in the general section of these forms,
the bulletin # is 2003-1-28, and for god only knows why it states on EFI cross countrys only. I can't think of why it would be for the fuelies only.

It looks another in the ever growing list of A/C blunders, why the heck did they only included the EFI sleds is beyond me.
