8200 seems a little low for a 600r. When they came out in '08 the manual called for 8300 RPM. As guys have got a lot more time with the long rod motor it seems like 8500 is the number to shoot for.

The plug by the carbs is the Throttle Position Sensor. It must be plugged in too for proper engine operation.

If the brown black plug is not plugged in then for sure, 100%, that is a problem. No guarantee it's all of your problems but without the coolant temp sensor plugged in the sled will not run...
