I completely agree with too slow, 96-120 studs depending on your track lug,, brakes are important in most all conditions and studs make a huge difference based on the trail conditions.

No you don't have to drain the chain case to remove the skid, I'm sure if you kept reading it would continue to also remove the drive axle and track, in which you would have to drain the chain case.
