Good 4.5” last night!
We’re getting closer!!
Wind blowing most of it in ditches this morning.ditches definitely rideable now and wouldn’t be surprised if a few groomers don’t go out.
Chisel plow looking tough yet.
If we get some snow over weekend things might be looking up!
Yep - I'd say a good 5" around Lake City, maybe even 6". It's definitely the lake effect type of snow that will blow like crazy. Some warm temps later in the week may help firm things up a bit & hopefully another batch of snow can get the chisel plow rideable.
Just got home from work, I drive a ready mix truck on the south side of the city’s, that got interesting this afternoon, anyway this is what I have in Cannon Falls!
Pic one is out the north door of my shop
Pic two, if you can see it is the marks in the snow where my Ford Excursion, with a small lift was dragging the axles!
Good amount of snow here. About 500 sleds going by this evening including my favorite, the asshole with the loud can that CONSTANTLY braaps it everywhere he goes. Maybe it's Michael j Fox I don't know but those assholes can go ahead and run into a tree.
Unfortunately when I got home last night we got the short end of the stick!!
I would say around 8” of some really wet snow!
Must of been more rain here?
Luckily 10 miles to west good 10+!!
A few sleds through town last night.
Our local groomer should be headed out today?
Will know more this afternoon?
A good starting point would be cannon falls or zumbrota area and head south west?
Not sure how lake city area panned out?maybe bontz will chime in give us a total?haycreek area would make nice ride?

Wonder where the best destination would be? Is there an active club in the Owatonna Area? What about Fairmont? I'd love to get a ride in this weekend. Not sure where to go. I know our club wouldn't groom if we had that snow so I want to go somewhere that has a better club than ours
Our local groomers will be out.Went through zumbrota last week and they had groomed then so im sure there out today!!I believe they have new groomer to play with!!
Somebody pinch me. Did we really get 15-16 inches in the south metro or am I dreaming?
Pictures are from trails between Prior Lake and Lakeville. Ran into some grooming going south from Lakeville. Was nice to finally be able to put on a quick 60 miles before work from my front door.
I live in Rosemount too and went for a quick spin after work tonight. Went to Farmington and back. Plenty of snow, a few spots in fields showing dirt, some clicking of skis. Great to be able to ride from my house for once!!! Groomers would knock down the dirt clods and with the packing all of the sleds have done, should make for some decent trails!
We got a good foot or so here in the south metro. I measured 13.5" in one spot and 21" in another. Hard to tell exactly with all the drifting. Local club says it's too warm to groom on their FB page. Oh well, I'm going out tomorrow bumpy or not. I went back to a shorty so I figured I'd let a few others get out first and pack it down some. I may even try a few fields depending on how set-up the snow is, haven't been able to ride those in 4 years...
How's the snow down there? Did it rain first then turn to snow or all snow? Powder or slush or some where in between?
We only got a couple inches up here ,but it was good snow, no rain.
already had a half way decent base, so better than nothing ....20180117_140515.jpg
Just came back from our Date night, I nice 60 miles and a burger at Kings in Miesville!
Lots of snow!
