Default Poor Idle.

All winter I've noticed my sled getting progressively worse in regards to cold start idle. The sled has performed well otherwise. Upon startup I'm running on one cylinder for up to 15 long seconds before it fires on both. Idles up to 1700. Then when it reaches operating temp it idles 1200 to almost stalling. (Belt on or off). I will help it with some throttle and spin the track to warm things up. Then it picks up rpm and all ok. After riding and stopping for a break. When I start it again, it fires up great but idles low 1200 to 1300. I feather the throttle to 2500 for a few seconds and then it picks up idle and all good.
Sled has 8000 miles on it. Valves were checked at 5400 miles. Had stock plugs gapped to 20 at the time. I have run a FTS single flash and Sandale max flow muffler for 3 years. The idle stop screw was adjusted when I had the flash installed. It was suggested to tweek it to idle around 1800.
I did tweek it slightly this winter to try to alleviate the low idle isue. I know that is not going to solve the problem. Its a Z1 Turbo EXT by the way.
I was thinking maybe the IAC or dirty throttle body or maybe valve check again? Anybody experience similiar issues? Thanks

Could be the things you mention, but I would change plugs as a start

A tired battery will do that to you also. Make sure it's fully charged. Easy thing to check before you start tearing half the sled apart. If you going for the plugs you may as well go that little bit further and clean the IAC.

Battery is old. Could be original cat battery. Gauge was showing 14.3v at idle.

I've got the FTS single stage flash and noticed the same thing this year even more than last. It appears on cold starts my engine surges from 1200 to 1650 until warmed right up. Then good consistent idle. Sometimes I think it's going to stall out. Hope it doesn't get worse next year. I did mention it to Steve when I had my flash initially done but he just kinda went hmmm strange.

After installing TD et/pt my idle was all over and died or dropped really low and slowly came back to under 1500. Thought it was the tune. Ben @TD advised cleaning IAC and it returned my idle to perfect. Sage advice.
