Default 17-18 600 SX or 600 XC?

Posting this for my Son that is starting to look into a Sno Cross race sled or Cross Country race sled for his trail sled.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This has probably been beaten to death but Iíll start it anyways...

Coming into the market looking for a 2017 600sx or 600xc. The price difference is surely there, while the XC lacks skis, shocks, and other desirable goods, it possibly makes its price off the larger tank, clutching, oil injection etc. While I am looking for either or, I am at the same time curious with the 2017s being EFI what does the SX call for to be more forgiving on trails? Lack of oil injection isnít a huge issue. Obviously added wheels, and larger tank. Iím curious to hear from ones that have experience or know of people that have dealt with these newer C-tec 2 sleds. Maybe an ECU reflash? Gearing?

Any known issue anyone is aware of thus far?

Opening the discussion as Iíve been out of it for a while. Last sled was an 03 trail converted sno-pro. Along with being a lot older, it seems maybe the 440s were less forgiving?

Thank you in advance. Open to new knowledge on this. Ideally prepping for next winter.

You won't find anyone on here that tells you that the SX is the way to go for trails. I have the '13 Sno Pro for trail riding and it works just great. The mods you need to make the SX trailable will boost the cost beyond reason. ECU reflash, to name one.

Find an xc.... Coming from a 440, it will be about as good as it gets without spending a fortune. The shocks are great, ton of adjustments. The 2017_2018 xc sleds are really rock solid. New panels are worth the extra cash alone.

Thanks,

Yup I agree, the XC would be the better trail sled for sure after reading etc.

He had a Sno-Pro 440 but once we blew it up enough times I got aa wrecked F-6 and converted it all over to the Sno Pro. He was in heaven. A sled he could trail ride AND jump off pit walls etc.

It was a win win WAY back in 04/05 and beyond.

Thanks for the reply.
