you really need to pay attention to what country these mileage reports are from canada has a larger gallon than the U.S. (4 liters) hence they will have higher mpgs. that being said our 2010 z1 turbo gets about 14 - 16 mpgs and that is riding hard, very hard, at that same ride rate my 05 f7 gets 9mpg. big difference over the weekend plus about $10 of oil roughly per tank of gas on my f7 = alot cheaper to run the turbo

also what do you guys think about the power to weight ratio on these, im in the market for a new sled and i love my zl 600 and love the way it handles and i am looking into getting an xf1100. this machine is a whole like 90 pounds more than my zl, which im not sure i like or not

im gonna go to the dealer expo in my area when it comes around and see how i like it and when no one is looking shake it around a little bit to see how heavy the beast really is :grinning:
Hey Arctic;

I had a 2002 ZR 600 and loved it much like your ZL. Believe me when I tell you when you get on the Z1 you will think you died and went to heaven!

I own a 2010 Z1 LXR and love it. Best sled I ever owned and I've owned lot's.

Now get this- my z1 gets 16.6 mpg on my last trip and that was not going putt putt but moving right along. If you have the same motor in a lighter chassis what do you think you would get for mileage? Naturally it will go up as it is a simple case of physics. I would not expect 22 MPG but you never know! It all depends on how hard you ride and believe me you will be able to ride harder than ever before because of all that the Z1 is.

With the loss in weight you will not notice that much of a differnece in the weight when you are on the trail , only when you get it stuck or have to move it around when the engine is off.

Hope this helps.

I'm a Doo guy interested in the 2012 Procross F800. Got 2 question. I met a dude on the trails last week that claims his 2011 800 F8 snopro is always around 18mpg. - Does that sound average to you cat guys? The motor from this year is basically the same 163+/-hp for next year correct?

The reason you get such good gas mileage on those Z1's is because of the Diamond Drive and now it's gone...

I'm just kidding, I'm just kidding.

However guys who are anal over gas mileage and oil on sleds... should just take up curling if you are losing sleep over it.
You need fuel to make HP, take your pick. PS..There is no 800 HO on the planet getting 18 MPG unless you have that 1" throttle block mentioned earlier...

I think he is full of it. Our 09 doo 800 gets about 15 MPG. I would guess the 800 cat would be about the same.
