Spoke with Speedwerx last week, it was pulling teeth to get information and a general lack of interest in selling the new version of the flash. They do not have a sled with the tune in place and we’re not able to capitalize on the previous mapping 18-19 season.

Going into the call was expecting to go fully commit to the flash and associated clutching as they are a local vendor. I think I would have had to beg the guy to do it but the end of the call (wasn’t talking to Jeremy).

I am curious about the flash as well. But I am concerned that the flash was made for an 18-19 800, mine being a 20 with the different motor, I assume a different flash is probably required. I doubt anyone has one made yet for a 20. I am not interested in putting in a flash for an 18-19 on a 20 sled. Maybe someone will make one specific to the new motor.

The updated PrecisionEFI flash for the 2020 CTEC was released approximately a week ago. A few guys on the forum have it.

So is the Precision flash for the 2020 CTEC 2 motors any better or have more HP than for the 2018-19 motors?

This is an absolute joke! I have three with the old flash in our group and yes you have to clutch it with at least adjustable weights and it blows the stock sled away in every way. I have no idea how they could say this. They must have had a dud for a sled. It flat works and is so much crisper it is funny.

What a joke. They wouldn't be a dealer of mine for long saying crap like that. They should at least reach out to Precision and say it was not working as advertised and perhaps there was something else that was causing this sled in question to not outperform the stock sled. Normally when yo make more power RPM goes up and thus it gains rpm. You have to add weight to get it back in the power band. This is no different. What we found was that it made the sleds power band to drop off faster after 8100 rpm. Just ensure that you clutched for 8000 or 8050 and hold on. One of ours is right there with the 850s now. The other with some other light mods and tune is faster and quicker than the 850 with roughly 175 hp. Just my 2c

When Dynotech did their writeup for the shootout Dyno test, Jim said he wanted to test the new precision flash on the 20 when it becomes available. He is curious to see the difference also between the 19 and 20 precision flashed sleds. They haven't posted anything yet.

I know this topic is for 2020 and I have a 19 but some guys mentioned the weird running at 5k rpm light load low speed and that it seemed lean how it would kind of buck and chug. Well mine did it too. I didn't do this with that issue in mind but I put in heavier weights and changed plugs and it doesn't do it anymore. I guess either one could be responsible for the improvement. But something to think about for the guys with that issue
