Default Limp in mode

Went for first ride of year sled going into limp mode . Won’t rev past 6500 only do 40mph.Problems comes and goes not throwing code most of the time.it did throw octane after a few miles a couple times in limp mode.stoping and restarting engine didn’t seem to change anything . Just driving along and it would seem to clear itself and work great as long as I didn’t stop and idol or shut it off . Put gas line antifreeze in it didn’t make any difference. Was stored with near empty tank . Voltage seemed okay on gauge in diagnostic mode . No problem with lights or hand warmers . Even tried shutting everything down no change. Any body have a similar issue ? Bad fuel?only run 91 none ethanol . Couple tanks threw on ride.will a lean condition cause this without a code?

What sled and motor are you having trouble with.

Exhaust valve cables rusted/broken/stuck/popped off the drum? Easy thing to check. Pull the pipe off, 10mm socket on the two bolts on each valve and pull them out. They should each look the same. Actually, before that, check the other end of the cables are attached to the servo and again, each look the same, not one tight and one full of slack. Owners manual if you need soecs

So i have checked power valves and tested servo motor they checked good. Found hand gard lights had shorted out. Tests stator hot charge coil #2 out of specs. Got a used stator put in seemed to work good for 30 miles or so. Then had brake light issue grounded out on jack shaft. I believe I caused this issue when I had tank off checking wiring harness. Put on 20 miles or so worked great . Went out this weekend half way threw the day started doing it again . No codes feels like limp mode no lights or gauge issues.turn everything off doesn’t change anything. Can voltage regulator do this?? Really weird it comes and goes. While driving anybody had a similar issue. Getting really frustrated with this issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Just replaced my voltage regulator. Lost my gauge and tail light, but not my head light. All is fine now.
