Default Cat's parts look up MIA ???

Went to compare a couple parts on Cat's fiche ....and it's GONE ??? The page I had saved defaults to the gear and accessories now and not replacement parts. Anyone else notice this ? It was great because you could put a part number in, and it would tell you where that part was used. It was also the most up to date listing with more current info than most dealer sites had/have.....

Wonder if it's gone for good ..... or down for an update.

They had a store for a while on the corporate site. When you ordered something they would have the closest dealer to you with it in stock send the item to you and pay them a commission.

As Greg said, I was on the Cat website. Used to be link at the bottom of the page that said "PARTS".... and it went to a the parts look up, not accessories, etc like the "store" has. I had that page saved to go directly there from a bookmark. It was always the 1st to get updated with new models. So when looking for parts for the newest models, the Cat site had it before Country Cat, Babbitts, Ken's, etc. Then the lists would roll out to the dealers.

I never ordered parts from the Cat site as other places always had better prices with the Cat site being at retail. But it was a great resource for reference, etc.

The website taper is referring to was store.arcticcat.com, i used it all the time too as it was more accurate being direct from the manufacturer. However, that site now redirects to shop.arcticcat.com which only has accessories. As greg said, prior to Textron, AC would fulfill orders for this website from the nearest dealer to the customer, but after Textron they would fulfill orders straight from the Bucyrus OH distribution center. As i have friends working at AC, this is the website they used for their employee discount on parts and they were super pissed this weekend when the parts portion of the website went away. I heard today that after multiple complaints, they are working to bring it back because the employees have no other way to get their discount on parts.

The race store is also gone as of sunday. I tried to log in to put in a order passcodes and email login's no longer work. Racers would go to the corporate site log in and order off the parts fiche just like Taper was doing. The funny thing is I can still log into shopatron and see all my account info.
