hmmm, find out the cemicals that make up the plastics, inhalation of certain gases can have a prolonged effect and you could be entitled to a compensation if illness arises because of this. please have compasition of materials chked out.... be like burning pressure treated wood... cyanide gas is released thats why they changed it.

The blistering in that next to last pic is def hot enough to outgas some bad stuff if its in there. Thats terrible. Hopefully they replace all that for you and add some better shrouding on the inside.

Funny you say that, but on new machines, as part of the EPA testing, they put a finished dry sled into a testing bubble, and they measure what comes off the sled from the plastic, the foams, etc etc. It's not just what comes out of the exhaust when it's running that they test. It's getting kinda ridiculous.

That sucks.
What were the conditions? Wet heavy snow, pushing it hard?
Shouldn't matter. This should be dealt with.

They’ve had to do that in the automotive world, for years. Total hydrocarbon emissions test.

So aside from the melted plastic how was the running quality of the engine? Did it seem rich or did you ever see any exhaust flames after a long hard pull? I would think this will be taken care of but it is very frustrating to see a major design change only to have the same issue as the design before.

I have 180 miles on my ZR 8000 so far no flames or burnt spots. Only been riding trails so haven't worked the sled hard or no long runs on a lake.
