Default Fusion 600 aftermarket AC/DC converter

I recently picked up 2 06 Fusions. Based on what I'm seeing I plan to replace the converters on both sleds before the winter gets here. I just called the shop I buy all my parts from and they gave me a price of $280 for the OEM, and $200 for the aftermarket. I did not ask if the aftermarket came with the wire harness. Pervious experience left a bad taste for aftermarket VRs. Should I be leary in this case too? Has anybody has any luck with these? I also didn't ask who made the aftermarket.

Yeh, SPI makes the aftermarket.
Not aware of anyone here using one, or atleast posting about it.

Take a look on the Fusion forum as there is a member that has done several big write ups about wiring in the 600RMK one, which is same regulator, but does not come with the extended harness that can't be bought by istelf and seams to garner a huge $$$ value as the Fusion 600 one depicts.

I believe the members name is Drema ?

Anyway, his threads should be found within a few pages in the Fusion section.

Just my opinion, just about all those aftermarket vr's have failed or just don't work when guys i know have tried them. Your better off with the replacement poo ones.

I've actually read this more than once. I was gonna spend the extra money for a plug and play solution, but these converters seem to have gotten even more expensive since Drewma published his thread.
